Small worlds

Small Worlds is a free 3D browser based online social networking game. The game is relatively new but is awesome. Players can easily create and edit content in the game. All missions are player made and can be created in less than 30 minutes. Players get a free property called a space when they join. Players can edit and buy items for this space. If a player wants another space they can easily go and buy one.

Roleplay is also alive and active in this community. Player’s can roleplay anything from a happy family to a cult. The only negative thing I have found is the extremely immature membership base. You cannot go to a public area for about one minute without being asked on a date at least seven times. This may be due to the main age of players being 13-15. This is annoying but does not detract that much from everything else

Good: Free, 3d, easy to use, very fun
Bad: Some annoying players, Immature member base
Final rating: 80 out of a 100

Elderscrolls III: Morrowind

I started out playing Oblivion a few years ago. It was the first non linear game I had ever played. Oblivion is what got me into free form games but this review is not about Oblivion it’s about Morrowind.
When I had finished Oblivion I was thirsty for more. I did some research and decided to buy Morrowind. This proved to be difficult seeing that the only way to purchase the game in South Africa at the time was off of Amazon. Due to theft at the post office, Amazon had refused to deliver to South Africa. Finally, I won an auction for it on eBay. About 5 Months later I received the game in the post.My first look at Morrowind was quite confusing due to it having different controls from Oblivion. After I had changed the controls to my liking I started to explore the world. Morrowind takes place on the island of Vvardenvell. Players of any Elderscrolls should know that Vvardenvell was occupied by the Imperials from Cyrodiil. You start on a ship heading to a Port Town, when you arrive you are allowed to set up your character, I chose to become a Nord Warrior with my star sign as the Warrior.
I do not want to wreck the story for anyone so I’m going to move onto the game itself. The world is much, much larger than Cyrodiil. Terrains are diverse, spanning from lush forests, snowy tundra’s and ash wastelands to Swamp lands, deserts and volcanic plains. Characters are immersive and full of depth. There is no voice dialogue when talking to characters but for roleplay junkies, that should be no problem.

This is truly an excellent game and I wish to stop now so I can continue playing it.

Good: In-Depth world and characters, Diverse terrain, Immersive story....
Bad: Menu system is a bit hard to get used to
Final Score: 98/100

Call of Duty 4 review

TReleased: 9th November 2007

The Call of Duty series must be the best FPS series ever. Its awesome graphics, gameplay and realism are of the highest standard. All the Call of duty games, so far have taken place in World War 2, but the developers decided that the Nazis needed a break. Call of Duty 4 takes place in the present day; you play as the British and the Americans through out the campaign. The game is very short but it is an awesome and dramatic experience. The game also includes one of the best multiplayer modes ever. You start by picking a team and a class. While you fight, you gain experience. If you get sufficient experience you gain a rank. The higher the rank you are, the more classes and weapons become available. You can also design your own classes. So, in short, Get This Game.

Final Rating: 98/100
Good: Gameplay, Story, Graphics, Multiplayer, Dramatic
Bad: Campaign is too Short

Call of duty: World at war

The Call of Duty series has always been a hit (with the possible exception of Call of Duty 3)and this one isn't any different. This version isn't quite as good as CoD4 but still is an awesome game. The developers have been having a tag team match and its Treyarch's turn to make this game. Ever since the failure that was Call of Duty 3, which was made by Treyarch, players were a bit wary of this.

Setting:

The game has been brought back to WW2 but in the Pacific. I don't really need to explain the story that much. The long and the short of it is, a guy with a funny mustache tries to take over Europe and fails to do so. No other World War 2 game has let players fight in the Pacific (except flight simulators) and players were very excited about this aspect. The game has awesome graphics. The games overall theme is pretty dark.

Story: WARNING CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS

As i said before, the story is already pretty well known. The game starts with you and a friendly US guy tied up in a shack with some mean looking Japanese men looking over you. The Japanese guy says something to the other US guy and then smacks him. The US guy swears at the Japanese guy and then gets an eye full of cigerette. I can't really rate the story because its true.

Graphics:

The graphics are exquisite and very life like. The atmosphere of the game is pretty violent with a lot of decapitation and Japanese running out of the grass and knocking you to the ground and stabbing you.

Good:

graphics, dramatic, violent :)

Bad:

Bugs, just doesn't feel as good as CoD4, World War 2 again

My rating:

90 out of a 100

Final word:

The game is awesome but clearly not as good as Call of Duty 4.

Fallout 3 review

Many people thought that Fallout 3 would be a big flop, but they were wrong. Fallout 3 is the first of the franchise to be made by Bethesda. It is an amazing open world experience which takes place in a nuclear devastated Washington DC.

Setting:

The game takes place in the year 2277, 200 years after China had bombed America. The first 2 games take place on the West Coast but this one takes place in Washington. The enviroments are spectacular. The player can see every tiny detail of this ripped apart city. The games map has everything from ruined cities to giant ant nests. One bad thing about the setting of this game is, every single metro tunnel looks the same, but this far from takes away from the glory of this game.

Story:

I should first mention that the story of this game got nominated for Game Story of the Year. The game starts out in Vault 101, a nuclear shelter, where your character was supposedly born. The player starts the game as a baby and must use a genetics machine thingy to design his adult character. After the player finishes this, the game goes forward 3 years. In this stage, the player must set up his attributes and learn basic movement. The next stage sends the player 7 years into the future where he gets a Pip-boy 3000. The Pip-boy 3000 is a watch-type machine that acts as your inventory, skill sections, traits, stats and radio. Well, in this stage, you learn how to shoot and use items. The next stage is just a test that decides your class and skills. The main game starts after this stage. Your character wakes up to find that his dad has left the vault without the overseer's permission and the overseer now wants to kill you. You get given a pistol and must escape the vault. You have many different ways to leave the vault, but with all different consequences which will affect you later in the game. I'm not going to tell you further or I might spoil it for some people.

Good:

Story, gameplay, guns, violence, humor.

Bad:

Repetive, too many bugs.

My final rating for this game is:

95 out of a 100
